You wake up, have formation, go to class for 6 or 7 hours a day, have homework every night and do it all again 5 days a week. Not to say that you can't do a day/weekend trip to SF by public transport, but driving is so much less annoying. The last time I did it I sat for 6 hours in the middle of night in unseasonably freezing cold windy weather in December at the San Jose bus/train terminal attempting to sleep and being accosted by bums. and getting to San Jose/San Fran by public transport is kind of a pain. Sometimes you want to get out of Monty, though. But you're right, Monterey buses are decent and I used them plenty too, only got a car about 6 months in. After an exhausting week of classes, the last thing I want to do is try to herd friends to the bus stop at the proper time so that we may catch the proper bus to go see a movie.
